The
Indian Cane Power Limited, incorporated in 2002 and since from 3 years
it has been contributing to the industrial development of India. The
company was promoted by Shri Shamnur Shivashankrappa, chairman of
Shamanur group of industries Davanagere, Ex-MP of Davanagere and member
of legislative assembly, Shri Shamnur Shivashankrappa is not just a
dreamer but doer in his own way. The ICPL is the dream child of Shri S.
S. Mallikarjun. Under the dynamic leadership of the Managing Director
Shri S. S. Mallikarjun who is Ex-member of legislative assembly from
Davanagere Constituency & Ex-minister of youth services and sports
in the Government of Karnataka and presently the chairman of S.S
Institute of Medical Science and Research Center, Davanagere and his
professional team, the company has emerged as largest and fast growing
fully automated sugar and power industry in India. The company has
achieved tremendous growth acceleration in the last 2 years & has
aggressive plans for the near future. Since its inception, the Company
has been helping the surrounding villages for their socio-economic
development through direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The
factory is located in Uttur village falling in mudhol taluk of Bagalkot
district. The closest town to the factory is mudhol is at the distance
of 9kms. ICPL is residing besides to the highway providing easy
transportation for goods as well as for its employees. It is provided
housing complex next to the factory for its employees with pick and drop
facility for their children's to school. ICPL is placed very elegantly
in a desirable and picturesque location that provides for a good work
environment.
The factory provides Cane seeds to the farmers for cultivation, to help build a mutual relationship of trust and goodwill. In the surrounding areas, irrigation facilities by way of wells, bore wells and two barrages constructed across the river Ghataprabha prove to be useful for the agricultural activities. These facilities help especially during summer, as sugarcane need plenty of water for good yield.
It
is a integrated sugar complex with complete automation of the sugar and
power production process. Its present capacity is 24000 TCD and 83MW of
power from its COGEN plant. The location of the factory is benefited by
its proximity to the sugarcane belt also called as high recovery area.
This specific sugarcane belt exists in the north Karnataka region and
extends to many parts of Maharashtra. As a result, ICPL has a
procurement of 40 lakh tonnes of sugarcane within a 15km radius and
another 1.5lakh tonnes within a 30km radius approximately. In the two
years of operation company has produced good quality of sugar and also
introduced new technology like vehicle continuous pan which is one of
its kind of own. The quality of its sugar is also comparable to the best
and therefore fetches the premium rate in the market.
